Hope beats despair

A vast number of people wonder how the Japanese could recover and turn to be a giant economic power in the aftermath of the horrible atomic bomb on Hiroshima in 1945. Other people can’t grasp the logic of fishermen when just throwing their fishing line into the water in anticipation for catching fish. Very few people can interpret why cancer and AIDS patients cling to life after all their unbearable suffering.

The secret lies in the magical power of hope. It’s hope that turns our dreams into reality. Hope has healing powers and it always affords a solid strength to effectively come up against hard times. It motivates us in life and enables humans reach their ultimate goals. Recent medical researches have found that people who hold much hope for the future are healthier than those who abandon hope and fall into the trap of despair. Hope teaches us never to give up in life and keep trying. It’s but natural that people with proper optimism are always happy and more successful than their pessimistic counterparts.
Life is full of ups and downs. If you are willing to accept happiness and joys with open fists, then it’s unfair to refuse pains and sorrows. In case of adversity, people are naturally split into two categories. While as there’re people who easily give up and surrender their ambitions and inspirations, other people vociferously believe that there’s always a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel and there’s always day after night.

It takes successful and wise people more than hope to fulfill their commitments and combat depression plus failures. Hope, inevitably, must be backed up with hard and instant work. “There’re no secrets to success. It’s the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failures”-Colin Powell. Hope truly is a spiritual blessing from God.
